The 2023 APP Sunmed Punta Gorda Open was a five-day pickleball tournament held at PicklePlex in Punta Gorda, Florida, from January 11–15, 2023. The tournament featured singles, doubles, and mixed doubles competition for both amateur and professional players. It kicked off the 2023 APP Tour season. In men’s pro singles, Hunter Johnson defeated Jhonnatan Medina Alvarez to win the gold medal. In women’s pro singles, Parris Todd defeated Megan Fudge to win the first gold medal of 2023. Parris Todd and Simone Jardim paired up to win the women’s pro doubles gold medals. Andrei Daescu and Kyle Yates joined forces to take home the men’s pro doubles gold. Todd and Johnson earned the mixed pro doubles title to conclude the tournament, earning Todd the Triple Crown and making her only the second woman in APP history to accomplish the feat.
