Alex Neumann is a former competitive tennis player who moved into professional pickleball on the PPA Tour. He played tennis at the Menlo School and later walked onto Northwestern University's team, earning a spot on its practice squad. Neumann has said he took up pickleball in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, while looking for an athletic activity to replace tennis.
