Anton Gudz is a professional pickleball player who competes on the PPA Tour. A native of Odessa, Ukraine, he moved to Mystic, Connecticut, at age 11 with his mother, Tatiana, after she married an American. Gudz came to pickleball from a tennis and racquetball background, first taking up the sport on a spring day in 2017 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, only after resisting several invitations from friends. He studied chemistry at the University of Connecticut and later relocated to North Carolina after being recruited by a chemistry professor at UNC, pursuing pickleball alongside his scientific career. Off the court, Gudz works full-time as a technical sales specialist for Thermo Fisher Scientific.
