Claudio Quinones came to professional pickleball from a competitive tennis background. Before college in the United States he held a top-200 ranking in Spain, and he went on to play college tennis at Ottawa University, where as a junior he earned Co-KCAC MVP honors, KCAC Newcomer of the Year, and First Team All-KCAC recognition, finishing the 2018-19 season with a 20-5 singles record and a 17-match winning streak. Earlier, at Seward Community College, he was named Freshman of the Year and earned All-Region VI and NJCAA honors. In pickleball, Quinones partnered with Juan Benitez to win the 2024 The Kitchen Open in Austin, Texas, where the pair defeated the rest of a 63-team field for the title.
