DJ Young is a professional pickleball player on the PPA Tour who grew up in Burriana, Spain, before moving to Southern California at the age of 13. Before pickleball he spent a decade playing competitive junior tennis as a child, and after burning out on that sport he was convinced to trade his racquet for a paddle. According to the PPA Tour, his game is built around wrist flexibility, a strategic understanding of the game and a natural ability to generate power. He later settled in Austin, Texas, where he trains alongside the area's professional pickleball community. Major League Pickleball credits him with winning titles including the World Pickleball Championships.
