DJ Young, whose given name is Darrian, is a professional pickleball player who came to the sport after a decade of competitive junior tennis. Having burnt out on his previous passion, he was convinced to swap his racquet for a paddle. Young grew up in Burriana, Spain, before moving to Southern California at the age of 13, and he competes on the PPA Tour. Following the Vulcan Indoor National Championships, the PPA Tour fined Young after an errant paddle throw bounced off the court and ricocheted into seated fans courtside.
