Eric Roddy is a professional pickleball player who competes on the PPA Tour in men's singles, men's doubles, and mixed doubles. He came to the sport after a tennis career as both a player and coach, having played collegiate tennis at Sewanee: The University of the South, where he was a Division III All-American. He later served as the men's head tennis coach at Swarthmore College and as an assistant coach for the University of Georgia women's tennis team while pursuing his MBA. Roddy discovered pickleball in Athens and began playing more regularly after moving to Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2022. Away from the court, he has lived in A Coruna, Spain, teaching English, and has worked in sports media, including as editor of CBS Sports' Dolphins Report.
