KaSandra Gehrke is a professional pickleball player who grew up in the town of Marshall, Wisconsin, and earned a bachelor's degree in physical education and health from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She began her career teaching physical education and coaching volleyball and basketball in Mazomanie, Wisconsin, and discovered pickleball through her work before introducing it to her students. In 2018, three years after her teaching career began, she quit her job to become a full-time pickleball pro. Among her competitive results, she won a bronze medal at the US Open in 2019. Beyond competing, Gehrke founded EmpowHer Pickleball, a women-focused camps-and-retreats brand, in January of 2023.
