Hurricane Tyra Black is an American professional pickleball player, originally from Boca Raton, Florida, who competes on the PPA Tour. She earned the nickname "Hurricane" as a young child. Before pickleball, she played professional tennis on the ITF Tour, and she comes from an athletic family: her father competed for the Jamaican Davis Cup team, and her sister, Tornado Alicia Black, is also a tennis player. Black entered professional pickleball in 2023. At the 2023 Takeya Showcase, she defeated top-ranked Anna Leigh Waters early in the singles draw and went on to win the gold medal in the final against Yana Newell.
