Xiao Yi Wang-Beckvall is a professional pickleball player who was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. A former tennis player, she captained the Iolani School tennis team in high school before shifting her focus to academics. She came to pickleball in 2022, when her boyfriend entered the pair in Honolulu's Diamond Head League. Wang-Beckvall worked as a genetic counseling assistant before turning to the sport full time: in early 2024 she was drafted for her first season of MLP Australia and left her counseling work to focus on pickleball. She has since competed internationally, including on PPA Tour Asia, and has played and earned medals in countries such as India, Japan, and Vietnam.
